PumaFlow has been validated by Beicip-Franlab on some of the world’s largest or most complex oil fields in the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and Russia.
PumaFlow is a reservoir simulator solution suited for all kind of fields, whatever the geology or the fluid composition. Thanks to its first-class physics, PumaFlow helps optimizing production and improving recovery of oil and gas fields.
PumaFlow runs under Windows 32/64 bits and Linux 64 bits Operating Systems.
PumaFlow Blackoil is a three-phase, three-dimensional reservoir simulator for general-purpose black oil simulation, including miscible gas injection processes.
The PumaFlow compositional is designed for modeling the flow of multi-phase, multi-component fluids, wherever understanding of the complex phenomena and interactions between components is essential to improving recovery.
PumaFlow is the reference simulator for fractured reservoirs. Its dual medium simulation is based on a rigorous formulation of matrix-fracture exchanges. Shape factors are computed according to flow direction, production mechanism and time. The flow calculation between fractures and matrix takes into account capillary, gravitational and viscous forces, diffusion and block-to-block re-imbibition. IFP’s fractured reservoir modeling tool, FracaFlow, is tightly linked with PumaFlow and allows to calculate and export fractured reservoir flow parameters in a seamless way, emerging the added value of the PumaFlow solution for fractured reservoir simulation.
PumaFlow provides a reliable solution for various thermal processes (e.g. steam injection, air injection, in-situ combustion, Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage process). The thermal options may be combined with dual medium options for fractured field applications. Extensive proven applications have been achieved in Canada, Venezuela, Middle East, Russia etc.
The parallel option in PumaFlow offers superior computing performances by reducing the simulation time. PumaFlow exploits the benefits of cluster technology (Open MP or MPI parallel computing). Parallel technology can be applied to PumaFlow Blackoil, PumaFlow Compositional, PumaFlow Dual Medium and PumaFlow Thermal simulators. Matrix oil recovery, % IOIP Time, years

The PumaFlow working and data management environment is based on the new OpenFlow platform, which dramatically eases the reservoir engineer’s mission, for data access and preparation, QC analysis, workflow design, submission result interpretation and reporting.
PumaFlow embeds sophisticated and rigorous physical formulations for all simulation options. High efficiency solvers offer best-in-class computation performance and robust results for large to super-large grids.
Available options include: gas injection, WAG, CO2-N2 injection, thermal processes, polymers, all of which have been extensively validated in the laboratory and in the field.
The native link of PumaFlow with Assisted History match tool (CondorFlow) and Uncertainties Management plug-in (Easysense) drastically speeds up history matching process and achieves more reliable production forecast.
